Ancient Greeks: Athletes, Warriors and Heroes
Auckland War Memorial Museum
An exhibition comprising of 170 artefacts from the British Museum. I designed the 750 sqm exhibition for the Auckland War Memorial Museum, with the brief requiring design concepts and plans to be signed-off by the British Museum.
Considerations for spatial design included managing the thematic and sequential narrative over 4 galleries; the sizes and flow of galleries; presentation requirements of the artefacts; assessment and allocation of display cases and developing the approach to the object label system within the cases.

The image on the left shows how the large artefacts were mounted
on pallets for travel and movement to site. These mounts were permanent and needed to be concealed. I developed a facade system that could be integrated into the plinths and barriers
required by the British Museum, to protect the artefacts from
being touched.

Where possible I designed the layouts of artefacts within cases to be viewed 360 degrees, allowing the viewer to appreciate the detail of an artefact as much possible.
